Angel Linares is a Computer Engineer, with a master’s degree in ICT Security and professional certifications in project management (PMP), IT services management (ITIL) and cloud security (AWS Security).
With more than 35 years of professional experience in software engineering, IT projects management and IT-related business management, he enjoys working with teams and companies to move their IT projects from inception to production with the proper mix of updated technical knowledge, a business mindset, and plain common sense.
He started out working as a software developer, and later held positions with responsibilities in planning and development of IT solutions in several companies. He also founded and managed an IT services business in the Barcelona area for over 18 years. Previously, in the early 90’s, he ran a dot-com project. Besides his professional duties, he is also involved in open source projects both in development and management.
Perpetual student of computer engineering, science and business management, he also collaborated as adjunct professor at Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya (UPC), teaching courses related with planning, managing and development of information systems projects at the Barcelona School of Informatics (FIB). He is consultant professor at Universitat Oberta de Catalunya (UOC), tutoring master’s degree theses in the ICT Security Master’s Degree.
He performs his activities of planning and development of IT projects either as an external consultant or as a company employee depending on the needs of the project, working fully remote on international projects or on-site in Barcelona.
